We love getting to share with you about how your food is grown and raised but we figured we’d also share a bit more about the people who are behind it all – our team!
Next in our series is Josiah! With previous experience in restaurant management, he’s at the helm of getting your orders packed and sent out as well as assisting with all areas of customer experience, especially for our CSA shareholders.
We sat down with Josiah to learn more about his varied roles on the farm, his hobbies outside of work and more:
I’m the Order Fulfillment and Customer Service Supervisor which means I lead our team in picking, packing and labeling our members’ CSA boxes each week. I always make sure they’re getting a thoughtful assortment of organic vegetables, meats and eggs each week and I’m also on hand to oversee and help out our customer support specialist guide our CSA shareholders through our online portal, answer questions and gather feedback. Keeping things running smoothly is the name of the game!
There’s a real sense of purpose in knowing our work helps feed families with responsibly raised food. I value being connected to the seasons, my community, and a team that cares deeply about what they do.
I absolutely love making a frittata with our farm fresh eggs and whatever I have in my fridge. Think spinach, tomatoes, asparagus, and a handful of herbs. It’s endlessly customizable and makes for a showstopper of a breakfast or dinner.
That we’re committed to sustainable, regenerative practices on every acre, producing genuinely nutritious food that supports healthier humans. I firmly believe you can tell (and taste) the difference.
So far it has to be the Hakurei turnips. These sweet turnips are as versatile as they are delicious. I’ve loved roasting them alongside maple glazed carrots and sauteing them in miso for stir fry. They’ve become a must have in my house and I never would have discovered them without the farm. As a relatively new CSA shareholder I’m eager to see what summer brings and what will claim my next ‘favorite’ title.
In my free time I enjoy watching soccer, I’m an avid runner, and I also love taking walks with my partner and our dog. There’s nothing better than soaking up a bit of sun while exploring the neighborhood together.
