Summer is here and we’re relishing the beautiful bounty we get to enjoy this time of year!
We harvest as often as we’re able and take what we get straight to our farm store and the farmers market but if you’re looking to secure the goods, the absolute best way is to join our Community Support Agriculture (CSA) program! We always prioritize our CSA shareholders and they get first dibs. More often than not we sell out of our most popular offerings before we can even make it to market!
If you’ve never been a part of our (or a) CSA before now’s a great time to take part in our Taste of CSA program this summer. Think of it as a 4-week CSA trial run: starting the week of July 29 you’ll receive a share from us each week featuring our summer’s best produce, and you can customize to only receive the items you love! You’ll also be able to add on a bread, coffee, egg, flower and/or meat share.
Here are the summer staples you can expect to sample as a CSA shareholder:
A backyard barbecue favorite, in the height of summer we like to serve sweet corn with almost every meal. We have delicious bi-color varieties this year.
Plucked fresh from the Colorado high country just for us, we look forward to these fresh and delicious 100% organic peaches every summer. Make them into a pie, blend into a smoothie, chop up into a salsa or enjoy them like we do—by themselves, eaten over a sink to catch the juices.
Our stringless green beans and yellow variety snap beans don’t need much in the way of fixings, they’re full of delicious flavor all on their own!
Can you even call it summer if you don’t get to enjoy some garden fresh tomatoes? Slice ’em, dice ’em, put them in a sauce or just eat them as is. Loads of cherry-size, salad type, and heirloom slicing tomatoes are coming in from the fields every day!
Sugar baby watermelons are hands down our favorite variety because of their deep red, sweet flesh and pleasantly firm texture. Plus they fit perfectly into the fridge! Slice up and enjoy—they go quick at summer parties!
