Elmwood Stock Farm, Georgetown KY, USA     ||     Order a Meat Bundle  HERE

Take Us With You When You Go

We’re excited to now offer meat shipments all over the contiguous US! We’ve done it with our organic, heritage-breed Thanksgiving turkey for years now, and thanks to the magic of all things online, everything in the new Shipping Items section of the farm’s online store can hop a plane and be at your destination the next day.

It seems like everyone we know is planning a vacation right now. Many folks are sticking to weeklong home rentals, which is a great way to go, because you get to experience a place while still having a home base to gather, cook, eat and relax.

Here’s the thing: We want to go on vacation with you. More aptly, we’ll meet you there. Or, actually, we’re going to ship Elmwood Stock Farm’s organic, pasture-raised meats to you there. On vacation, you can eat just as well as you do at home.

This also means you can share pasture-raised, organic meats with friends, family and business colleagues all over the country. Maybe they don’t have a farmer they trust the way you have us and you want to introduce them to the flavor and health benefits of these wholesome foods. Meat bundles also make great gifts, as you probably already know.

When you shop the Shipping Items section of the online store, your shipping fees are automatically added to your order at checkout. You’ll notice veggies and eggs aren’t available for shipping. We’ve found the vegetables don’t get along with the dry ice required to keep your frozen meats cold on an overnight flight, and the eggs just don’t travel well.

Meat is delivered via overnight service, shipped from the farm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. So if you place your shipping order on Monday, you’ll probably receive it on Wednesday or Thursday, and if you place it on Thursday, you still will probably receive it the following Wednesday or Thursday. Keep that in mind when you’re timing your order!

Shipping Items—and the entire online store—are updated as our meat inventory changes from week to week, meaning new stuff is added regularly. Meat bundles offer a nice way to purchase a selection of cuts, including steaks, sausages, ground meats and the Steak Up Bundle, which you might remember we put together as a collection of farmer John Bell’s favorites for his birthday. Some individual items in the online store right now include all-organic grass-fed and -finished Angus-Wagyu ground beef and sausages; pasture-raised poultry stock and ground turkey; and all kinds of heritage Berkshire-cross pork.

Here’s a pro tip: Choose a meat bundle for the most economical shipping package. Certainly you can build your own package with individual cuts as available on the Shipping Items page, it’s just that the shipping cost may end up being higher when shopping a la carte. Brittany, Mac and Ann put a lot of thought and effort into packing and repacking boxes to get those meat bundles to meet shipping specs, maximizing the amount of product you receive for your shipping dollar.

Happy vacation! Happy gift giving! Thanks for sharing the good word about good food with your friends, family and colleagues around the country. In our grand vision of a sustainable, regenerative food and farming system, small-scale, pasture-based family farms like Elmwood Stock Farm will be producing food in every county throughout the land. Until this food system catches up with the dream, we’re glad to have the ability to ship our meats to you.
